Baltic Exchange Wins 4th Posidonia Shipsoccer Tournament!
Posidonia 2014 Shipsoccer Tournament kicked off under a rapturous welcome by a vociferous group of 120 Egyptian supporters of the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport who were routing for their team, one of the 28 companies who fielded competitive sides in the event's fourth edition.
A total of 210 players sweated it out in front of some 500 spectators on the Georgios Karaiskakis turf one day ahead of the opening of Posidonia Exhibition as they vied for the prestigious trophy that has become an indispensable sporting feature in the biennial event's calendar.
Mr John Xylas, CEO of Ariston Navigation Corp. said: “It is our second participation at the tournament which promotes healthy lifestyles, team spirit and fair competition and we will continue to support this Posidonia week fixture.”
Mr Pantelis Pittas from the commercial department of Eurobulk said: “This is our third time here and this event is a great opportunity for companies to socialize have fun and exercise all at the same time.”
And also to win trophies and medals, that is if you were playing for either of Baltic Exchange or PWC who reached the final with the former prevailing to be crowned Posidonia 2014 Shipsoccer Tournament champions. Diamantis Pateras finished third.
